I'd like to make my own U-map too, was here somewhere the guide how to stitch those screenshots together? It would be very nice if somebody could spare little time to check my missing spots.
Thanks.
My actual problem is that when I take screenshot from u-map and then paste it to ms paint it comes as very huge, covering the whole image. How can I make that smaller so I can fit my whole map to one image?

Its not where you might think.... leave Champions Dawn into Plains of Jarin, and hug the wall going round to the north of the portal

Hi Niila...
I'd be happy to work from individual U-maps too. IOW, a U-map of each explorable area. However, I don't know how Livingston (or the board administrators) feels about attaching several images rather than one large one, so I haven't offered that option.
But keep in mind the only reason I need to work from U-maps is because I'm not as clever as the other map analyzers here who can see through the clouds on M-maps. I don't see how they do it, and I really think they are amazing, but they CAN do it, so it may not be necessary at all to post your U-map.

Hi Livingston...
I'm not seeing a link to another thread in your post. Do you mean the "next thread" button below? I just discovered under advanced options yesterday that I can rate this thread which I did immediately of course w/ a 5-for-excellent of course because I do so appreciate this thread.
Please pardon my ignorance, but I'm relatively new here and just learning my way around this forum. I do appreciate your patience as well.
Thanks!

Hi Bryant Again...
You can't get all of it if you're too high a level to play in the arena there, but talk to the arena guard who stands in front of those 'mysterious' closed double doors between the door to Plains of Jarin and the door to the Consulate. He'll let you into the staging area of the arena, and you can cover all that. It's not a lot, but it's enough to make your 100%.

Well I hope you had a great holiday! I appreciate you looking at my map. I checked all the spots several times. The only spot I didn't seem to get anymore map from was just outside champions dawn. After checking all the spots indicated I am at 99.9%! Do you see any other spots on the map that may give me the .1% Let me know Thanks again

Very nice Silentvex! Could you do same compare to me as well? I am at 99.1% at the moment and here is my zoomed-out map (taken as fast as I could after hitting M)

As for lakatz, if I still can't get to 100%, I will upload invidual u-map shots to imageshack.
Thanks in advance!

If anyone could do a difference on this map, I'd greatly appreciate it.
I'm at 99.5% and I know I still have some fog in Chanty of Secrets.
Sorry for the quest marker btw.

Hey guys, first post on the elona cartographer site. Message to those that posted their maps on the first page of livingstones intro, I see that there were 3 maps on there for comparison, i want to do a huge difference map, by taking the non zoomed out "M" maps stitched together of a 100% map against my own 96.9% map. were these maps compiled in this way??? or are they edited "U" maps??? if they were non zoomed out ones then what resolution were they taken on? i have spent 3 hrs today messing about and i cant get it right. if not, how the hell did you do them?!?
I appreciate there are many peeps that need your time and effort, esp those that are beyond your 98% benchmark, so respond when you can.
(my max resolution goes to 1440x900, sorry im a weird 19" widesreeen guy)
cheers guys!

Hi Relentless...
First of all, here's a solution provided by another reader for that area north of Champions Dawn:

I didn't have an opportunity to try that solution because just a few days ago I went out farming for collectibles for Wintersday goodies, and I thought I'd try just one more time to disperse that stubborn fog and VOILA... it disappeared... and it was just like Lazarus says... it wasn't from where I would have thought. I cleared the fog on the right... from the left.
I left Champion's Dawn from the Cliffs of Dohjok exit and headed north and hugged the wall until I came to a giant tree. I stood on one side of the tree (I think it was the left) for a couple of seconds and poof... my little bit of fog (which is the same little bit you still have) disappeared. I've attached a picture w/ the U-map in it. Try that and see if that won't get you to 100%. In the meantime I will scour your map one more time to see if I don't see another bit of fog somewhere.
Good luck and Happy New Year!

Hi again Relentless...
Well here it is (attached). I found four more small spots. This ought to do it. I'll just say gratz! now on your GMC title if you don't mind... but I would still love to see a picture of you wearing it.

munnif: My map was made from U maps stitched together, no clouds that way. It is possible to do the difference method on a larger map, but you'll need to do it 6-7 times because it can never get lined up perfectly. Every U map will innevitibly be off a few pixels (for a reason I'll not get into for space's sake) from any other U map. Regardless, I still think the layer on/off method works the best (for both zoomed out M and U maps). Also, I'm fairly certain there is a 1440x900 zoomed out M map in the OP.
Niila: Your map was taken at 1280x1024 but imageshack resized it to 600x480. I don't know how to solve the resizing as I've never had to use imageshack or the like, but it is worthless resized.

Livingston: I just came across this in the 3rd OP

2) Are there any missions that you have to map, which do not have an explorable area?
Yes, the Remains of Sahlahja.
Here is a little mini-guide courtesy of Silent Vex for mapping this area:
1. Set up with a build to solo a lvl 20 blood necro and a couple running skills, enter mission.
2. Dance with the little girl, re-enact the fight, and kill the lady with the rare artifact (do the other 2 mini-games if you're going for bonus), and go talk to the princes.
3. After the cut scene, all the guards blocking the stairs will have left their posts to attack the Skree.
Now's your chance to simply run outside and explore the whole zone.
Dynastic Tombs is also only accessible through the Remains of Sahlahja challenge mission.
|
You're mixing up Tihark Orchard and the challenge mission. Orchard can only be mapped that way if you have the Nightfallen Garden active (I still do since I'm too lazy to finish my protector title). Otherwise you can get it with Tahlkora. Dynastic Tombs is done with the wurms, and requires a whole different guide. I'm sure you know this now, and maybe just missed updating it (if not, play along ).

I'd really appreciate some help with reaching GMC. I can't for the life of me find more than 97.5% with my Tyrian character. I've even been all around the Dynastic Tombs And I know 2.5% is a LOT of map not to find
I've posted my map on my own webspace HERE if someone would be so kind to help me
Thanks in advance. BTW I play at 1600 x 1200 so my map may be a little bigger than usual.
